Project proposal:

“AfroRemix: Reviving Classics, Celebrating Heritage” is a dynamic music project seeking to remix iconic African songs, infusing them with modern energy while honoring their cultural significance. Over 9 months, the project meticulously selects timeless tracks, recruits a diverse team of artists, and engages in collaborative efforts with original musicians or their descendants.

Through innovative remixing, vibrant visual presentations, and strategic promotion, AfroRemix aims to reintroduce these classics to contemporary audiences worldwide. Alongside releasing the remixes, the project hosts educational workshops and cultural exchange activities, fostering deeper appreciation and understanding of Africa’s rich musical heritage. With a grant request of £4,000, this initiative promises to celebrate Black excellence, bridge generational divides, and inspire future innovation in African music.
