Certified carbon neutral

We’re delighted to say that Southlands Methodist Trust is certified as carbon neutral by Carbon Neutral Britain.

We’ve achieved this in line with the Methodist Church’s commitment to being carbon neutral by 2030. As they declare,

As Christians, we believe that God created the world. We believe in the inherent goodness of creation, and we believe that God is active and present in the world – sustaining creation from moment to moment. As people made in the image of God, we believe we are called to reflect God’s nature in being present and active in caring for creation. (methodist.org.uk)

Pro-actively caring for creation reflects our concern for the planet and for vulnerable human societies and other species at risk from the effects of the climate emergency. We also know that our sustainability journey is ongoing and therefore we’re continuing to work to reduce our emissions further and to invest in local sustainability projects.
