Project proposal:
This project is a pilot study to produce first data concerning the aspirations and experiences of young people with special educational needs and disability (SEND) in relation to their transition to the labour market under the SEND Code of Practice (2015) for England and the newly introduced National Disability Strategy. The study aims to a) explore young people’s experiences, aspirations, and expected/current transition pathways to employment; b) identify current practices, barriers and facilitators in the pathway to employment; c) identify the roles of practitioners and professionals involved in the transition process.
